The Apex Committee expressed its contentment with the performance of SIFC and its effective strategy to reach potential investors through seminars and project inaugurations
ISLAMABAD: The Special Investment Facilitation Council’s (SIFC) Apex Committee granted approval to projects aimed at attracting investments from friendly countries in sectors such as agriculture, livestock, minerals, mining, information technology, and energy.
During the second meeting of the Apex Committee, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, it was emphasized to provide impeccable facilitation to investors interested in undertaking and realizing these projects.
In attendance were Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, chief ministers, federal and provincial ministers, along with high-level government officials. The committee reviewed various projects presented by the ministries to present them to potential investors under the SIFC’s umbrella.
The Apex Committee expressed satisfaction with the functioning of the SIFC and praised its strategy to engage potential investors through seminars and project inaugurations.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan possesses all the necessary elements to boost its IT exports up to $25 billion within two to three years.
On his tweet handle account, the PM emphasized that investing in the IT sector can yield swift rewards and dividends, significantly contributing to tackling the unemployment issue.
Having attended the national seminar focused on unlocking Pakistan’s IT potential, organized by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the PM hailed it as a testament to our collective commitment to transform Pakistan into an IT hub.
The seminar, attended by stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, laid the groundwork for an IT revolution crucially needed in the country.
The PM highlighted the SIFC’s role, representing a whole-of-government approach, ensuring policy continuity and predictability in vital sectors such as IT, agriculture, mining, minerals, and defense production. He pledged unwavering dedication to implementing the economic revival plan, regardless of changing governments.
The IT industry will receive comprehensive facilitation under a one-window arrangement, and the onus now lies with industry leaders to seize this opportunity. The PM expressed complete faith in their ability to make the most of it.
Meanwhile, he vehemently condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and vowed to lead a campaign seeking a reversal of the decision allowing sacrilege of holy books. The PM stated that through the OIC platform, the government would work on a common strategy to combat this evil. He also pledged to campaign against the decision that permits the desecration of the Torah, the Bible, and the Holy Quran.
Shehbaz strongly emphasized that permitting the desecration of holy books, individuals, and rituals was not an act of freedom of expression but rather a means of constant torment to the world. He viewed these events as part of a political and satanic agenda, stressing that the entire Islamic and Christian worlds must unite to thwart this conspiracy.
In his remarks, Shehbaz highlighted the significance of these holy books, which provided dignity, rights, and guidance to humanity, and condemned the blasphemous actions of Satan’s followers. He criticized the decision to allow the desecration of the Torah and the Gospel, stating that it only encouraged the desecrators and promoted hatred, which goes against international law.
The prime minister further expressed concern over attitudes promoting religious incitement, terrorism, and violence, noting their detrimental impact on world peace. He condemned such behaviors both legally and morally, describing them as highly abhorrent.
During a telephone conversation, Shehbaz extended his well-wishes to President Dr. Arif Alvi, who had recently sustained an injury to his right leg during jogging. Shehbaz Sharif prayed to Allah Almighty for the swift recovery and best of health for President Alvi.
n the meantime, the prime minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences on the passing of Nawab of Junagarh, Muhammad Jahangir Khanji. The late Nawab had consistently raised a powerful voice against India’s unlawful occupation of the State of Junagarh.
The prime minister offered his prayers for the departed soul to find eternal peace and for strength and solace to be granted to his grieving family. Khanji had been undergoing treatment for cancer at a private hospital in Karachi, where he passed away on Thursday.
