Ariana Grande contemplates the difficult reception of the album cover for ‘Yours Truly’.
Ariana Grande has shed light on her decision to modify the album cover for the 10th-anniversary edition of her debut album, “Yours Truly.”
The pop sensation disclosed that she was prompted to make this change due to persistent ‘bullying’ from her fans, particularly focused on the perceived unattractiveness of the original cover art.
Despite being renowned for her chart-topping hits, Grande revealed that she had been deeply affected by the ongoing negative feedback surrounding the image over the course of several years.
During a recent TikTok Q&A session, Ariana expressed her sentiments about the initial response to the album cover for “Yours Truly,” her debut album. In addressing her fans’ viewpoints, she acknowledged their criticism by saying, “You were correct, though you aren’t always right. Your consistent bullying over the past decade is noteworthy.”
She recounted instances of fans expressing their displeasure, quoting remarks like “This is unappealing, Mom, change it.” These comments served as a catalyst for her decision to make the alteration.
When questioned about the rationale behind modifying the cover art, the singer of “7 Rings” recognized the strong reactions from her fan base. She characterized the original cover as “not great – it’s not terrible, but you were right. You were quite upset upon seeing it.”
