Due to an urgent hospitalization of Florence Welch, Florence, and The Machine had to cancel a few performances recently.
Florence Welch has shared insight into the decision to cancel the recent string of shows.
The prominent figure of Florence and The Machine took to Instagram on Saturday, August 27th, to disclose that she underwent “emergency surgery,” a procedure that had a life-saving impact.
The indie rock group had recently informed their supporters of the cancellation of their performances at the Zurich Open Air Festival and the Rock en Seine Festival due to undisclosed reasons.
In her statement, the renowned voice behind “You’ve Got The Love” refrained from disclosing specific details about the surgery but emphasized its life-preserving significance.
“I’ll be returning to conclude the Dance Fever tour in Lisbon and Malaga (though perhaps with a bit less jumping – I’ll leave that to you),” she shared, alluding to her onstage foot injury from last year.
“I do wish the songs were a touch less prophetic in their forecasts. Nevertheless, creativity serves as a coping mechanism, and mythology becomes a means of understanding,” she continued.
Wrapping up her message, Welch added, “The enigmatic saga of Dance Fever, complete with its peculiar prophecies, will undoubtedly offer me the strength and catharsis I need at this moment.”
