Sam Asghari’s family never wholeheartedly endorsed Britney Spears’ marriage with him.

Sam Asghari’s family had reservations about Britney Spears from the start and expressed relief upon their separation.

According to a source cited by Us Weekly, “Sam’s family is so thankful he ended his relationship with Britney when he did. Although they will always love and support Sam, deep down, they never felt she was the right partner for him.”

When the couple first began dating in 2016, Asghari’s family apparently attempted to voice their concerns to him. However, as things became more serious, they chose to withhold their objections.

The 14-month marriage between Asghari, 29, and Spears, 41, ended in divorce in August. In his divorce petition, Asghari cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation and requested spousal support and legal costs from Spears.

Asghari announced their breakup on social media the following day, stating in an Instagram Story post, “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. … We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other, and I wish her the best always.”
