Co-stars from 'Downton Abbey' gather to celebrate the union of Michelle Dockery and Jasper Waller-Bridge at their wedding
Seven years after enduring a heartbreaking tragedy, Michelle Dockery is now celebrating her wedding to Jasper Waller-Bridge.
Michelle Dockery, renowned for her role in ‘Downton Abbey,’ has officially tied the knot with her fiancé, Jasper Waller-Bridge. Their wedding took place at St. Nicholas’ Church in Chiswick, West London, on a beautiful Saturday.
The joyous occasion saw a remarkable turnout of Dockery’s fellow ‘Downton Abbey’ co-stars, including Lily James, Joanne Froggatt, Laura Carmichael, Elizabeth McGovern, Hugh Bonneville, Lesley Manville, Allen Leech, Lesley Nicol, and many more.
Furthermore, Julian Fellowes, the 74-year-old creator of the show, was also included in the guest list, accompanied by his wife Emma Joy Kitchener, a former Lady-in-Waiting.
This joyous wedding marks over a year since the couple publicly announced their engagement via a notice in The Times back in January 2022.
On her special day, the 41-year-old actress, renowned for her portrayal of Lady Mary Crawley in the ITV period drama, radiated happiness while clutching a bouquet of flowers. She graced the occasion in a pristine white satin Josephine gown, as depicted in images acquired by the Daily Mail.
In contrast, the 35-year-old Jasper Waller-Bridge, a former talent agent and sibling of the acclaimed Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge, exuded charm in a sophisticated navy suit. Phoebe herself was captured donning a stylish coral three-piece suit by Etro, accompanied by her long-time boyfriend, the playwright Martin McDonagh.
It’s worth noting that prior to her marriage to Jasper, Dockery had been engaged to Irish publicist John Dineen, who tragically passed away in 2015 after a 15-month battle with a rare form of cancer at the young age of 34.
Reflecting on that period, she shared with the Guardian in 2017, “We were engaged and married at heart, and so I do consider myself a widow. I don’t have the vocabulary to describe what it felt like… I’ve never been more committed to anything in my life than him. So at the time, everything just shut down. Work, everything.”
