Margot Robbie shares details about the ‘Barbie’ sequel.
Margot Robbie has expressed optimism regarding a potential sequel to ‘Barbie,’ despite uncertainty among fans. Rumors suggest that the actress has no intentions of reprising her role as Barbie in the speculated ‘Barbie 2’ film.
According to a recent report from RadarOnline.com, the two-time Oscar nominee is open to letting her co-star, Ryan Gosling, take the lead in the rumored new movie, focusing on his character’s romantic journey, as it seems unlikely that another film will revolve around her character.
“Within the studio, discussions are focused on creating a Ken-centric movie, as the idea of building another film around Margot as Barbie seems highly unlikely,” an insider revealed.
It appears that Margot Robbie prioritizes the story above all else.
However, Greta Gerwig, the film’s director, deliberately crafted the comedy without centralizing it around a single Barbie character.
While Robbie does not anticipate returning for the sequel, Warner Bros. executives might make a substantial offer to persuade her to reconsider.
“The ‘Barbie’ movie concluded with Margot’s Barbie becoming a real woman,” the insider explained. “A follow-up to that transformation is unnecessary. There’s ample room for Ryan to lead a comprehensive Ken-centric film, in which Margot will contribute behind the scenes.”
