The fact that Messi has only played for 41 minutes in the last 270 league minutes has sparked worries about Miami’s chances of making it to the playoffs.

Inter Miami faces a pivotal match against Orlando City this upcoming Sunday, but their star player, Lionel Messi, will not be gracing the pitch.

Messi’s absence has ignited concerns regarding Inter Miami’s playoff aspirations, given that he has contributed just 41 minutes of play out of their last 270 league minutes.

Initially, Messi was sidelined due to his international commitments with Argentina, and subsequently, he was kept out due to fitness concerns. The official explanation, however, points to a recurrence of a previous ailment exacerbated by fatigue, rather than a new injury.

During Miami’s recent 4-0 triumph over Toronto FC, Messi departed the field with a slight limp, triggering questions about his physical condition. Manager Tata Martino acknowledged the issue, remarking, “It’s discomforting. I can’t say if it’s painful. I can’t provide much detail as it’s more of a medical matter. It’s possible that it’s bothering him to the extent that it affects not only his physical state but also his mental readiness to play freely.”

This situation places substantial pressure on Inter Miami, who are fiercely vying for a coveted playoff position. The unpredictability surrounding Messi’s availability has made it challenging for the team to maintain consistency and secure crucial points.

In unrelated news, the T20 World Cup is set to take place in Caribbean nations as host venues, but regrettably, Jamaica has not been included among the selected nations. This decision has left Jamaican cricket enthusiasts disheartened, as they had eagerly anticipated the opportunity to witness international cricket in their homeland.
