Nawaz Sharif is set to receive an enthusiastic welcome on October 21, as announced by Shehbaz Sharif
Shehbaz Sharif explained that he hurried to London to confer on the legal and political measures in preparation for Nawaz Sharif’s return to his homeland on October 21.
In London, Shehbaz Sharif, President of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) and former Prime Minister, announced on Friday that he rushed to London to discuss the legal and political strategies in preparation for Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan on October 21.
He made this statement during a media briefing following crucial discussions at Stanhope House, attended by Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Ishaq Dar, Talal Chaudhry, and others. Both Maryam and Shehbaz arrived in London late Thursday night.
Shehbaz clarified that the speculation suggesting he carried a “special message” for his elder brother or had a “special meeting in Gujranwala” earlier in the week was baseless and unfounded.
He stated that he was in London on Nawaz Sharif’s instructions to deliberate on important matters, including the upcoming legal, administrative, and political steps for the Sharif family and the PMLN, adding, “We have made decisions.”
Shehbaz announced that Nawaz Sharif would receive a warm welcome in Lahore upon his return and would address a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan. During the rally, he would present the party’s plan to address poverty, unemployment, and economic improvement, emphasizing Nawaz Sharif’s track record as a leader who led Pakistan towards progress and hope in the past.
Shehbaz pointed out the accomplishments of the PMLN from 2013 to 2017, highlighting the end of power outages, the promotion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and substantial investments in Pakistan during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure.
He criticized the events leading to Nawaz Sharif’s removal from power in 2017, calling it a conspiracy that thwarted Pakistan’s progress and stole Nawaz’s mandate.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Nawaz’s return as a reformer and savior, promising to end the culture of vulgarity and provide employment opportunities for the youth.
He expressed concern over the toxic discourse in Pakistan’s national dialogue, normalized disrespect of colleagues and mentors, and the proliferation of vulgarity.
Shehbaz Sharif stressed the need to unite Pakistan and move forward, stating that his statements to the media were in line with PMLN’s official position and Nawaz Sharif’s instructions.
Maryam Nawaz briefly spoke to the media, confirming that Nawaz Sharif would receive a historic welcome in Lahore upon his return and dismissing rumors of delays or a possible change in plans.
