Friends of the ‘RHOC’ star have previously expressed concerns about Sharon Beador’s excessive indulgence and have suggested that she requires professional assistance.
Shannon Beador found herself in legal trouble after allegedly driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a collision in Newport Beach, California, on Saturday night.
TMZ, citing anonymous law enforcement sources, reported that the Real Housewives of Orange County star was intoxicated when she collided with a residential property and fled.
According to the arrest report from the Newport Beach Police Department obtained by Page Six, the 59-year-old actress was arrested at 11:45 p.m. local time following an investigation into the incident.
Following the investigation, Beador was charged with two misdemeanors: driving under the influence (DUI) related to alcohol and hit-and-run.
The investigation revealed that after the collision, an intoxicated Beador “drove back onto the road and continued driving before parking her vehicle in the middle of the street,” as reported by TMZ.
TMZ also noted that when the police arrived after a 911 call, Beador appeared to be walking her beloved golden retriever, Archie.
After her vehicle was impounded, the reality show star was cited and released from jail the following Sunday at 8:37 a.m. after posting a $2,500 bail and agreeing to appear in court, according to Page Six.
Shannon Beador joined the Real Housewives cast during its 9th season in 2014 and has been a regular on the show since. However, she has faced personal challenges in recent months, including a public breakup with her boyfriend of three years, John Janssen. Fellow Bravo star Jeff Lewis mentioned that Beador had been relying on alcohol during this difficult period.
During a recent episode of RHOC, co-star Gina Kirschenheiter expressed concern and suggested that Beador might need professional help for her drinking issues.
In response to the incident, Beador’s lawyer, Mike Fell, conveyed that Beador is “deeply sorry and remorseful.”
