In Lahore, another former legislator from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Wajiha Qamar, met with former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday and declared her affiliation with the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN).
Wajiha Qamar is the latest PTI leader to part ways with her former party.
During the meeting, the former prime minister extended his congratulations to her for joining the PMLN.
She expressed her unwavering trust in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, and the party’s principles. While commending Nawaz Sharif, she stated that, in the past, the party led by Nawaz Sharif had played a “significant role” in the progress and development of Pakistan.
Without explicitly mentioning the PTI, she indicated that the “destructive force” had adversely affected the nation and its people. The former PTI leader encouraged the public to support the PMLN, which she characterized as the “constructive force.”
