Sofia Vergara discusses the challenging separation from Joe Manganiello as she looks forward to a new beginning
Three months post-divorce, Sofia Vergara is reportedly involved romantically with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman.
Sofia Vergara openly discussed the challenges she faced over the past year, alluding to her divorce from Joe Manganiello. During the launch party for her brand in Los Angeles on Thursday, the 51-year-old Modern Family alum spoke with People Magazine about the highs and lows of the preceding months.
“I’ve had a very eventful year,” she shared. “I don’t want to label it as ‘bad’ or anything like that, but it’s been quite interesting and quite challenging.”
“This year, I went through a divorce, and dealt with the prolonged SAG strike,” the actress continued. “I’ve witnessed my friends grappling with various issues—some had to relocate their kids from school or faced challenges with their mortgages, so it’s been a peculiar, unusual year.”
Vergara and her husband of seven years officially announced their separation in late July. Just two days after the announcement, the 46-year-old Magic Mike actor filed for divorce, citing their separation as of July 2, 2023.
Amidst Vergara’s divorce and the challenges posed by the actor’s strike, the actress remains optimistic about the future.
“It’s not like it’s negative,” Vergara revealed. “I believe everything is resolving, and things will be okay. I’m very enthusiastic about the upcoming year.”
When questioned about whether she sees 2024 as a “fresh start,” she expressed her hope for it.
“I don’t know if there’s a true ‘fresh start’ at 51. I’m not sure if I’m considered fresh anymore, but I’m genuinely excited,” Vergara added.
“I’m looking forward to the upcoming TV show. I’m excited about Toty, which has been thriving since its inception. People are loving it because it’s a high-quality product.”
