Teyana Taylor has confirmed the official end of her seven-year marriage with Iman Shumpert. The 32-year-old “Gonna Love Me” singer addressed the ongoing reports on her Instagram Story, confirming that she filed for divorce from the 33-year-old former Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard.

TMZ initially reported the divorce news on Wednesday, revealing that Taylor had taken legal steps privately back in January. In response to the publicized information, Taylor issued a statement two days later, emphasizing her commitment to privacy and family, stating, “I mind my business, don’t bother nobody & y’all know I’ve never played about my children, family & our privacy.

I have not spoken on this private matter to any media outlets or blogs etc.”

Taylor further clarified, stating, “So everyone attributing ‘Teyana said’ didn’t receive any statements directly from ME. These statements were extracted from confidential court documents that were made public without my consent. It’s disheartening that someone would take the time to expose such a private matter to the world.”

The “Bare Wit Me” artist, who is a mother to Iman ‘Junie’ Tayla (7) and Rue Rose (3) with the former athlete, then appealed for privacy, expressing, “I request some privacy. Protecting my family has always been a priority, and for the sake of my children, I will continue to do so.”
