On Sunday, the father of Indian tennis star Sania Mirza disclosed that his daughter and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik finalized their divorce a few months ago. In a post on X, Imran Mirza, the father of the tennis star, shared, “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead!”

Imran Mirza emphasized, “At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well-wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy.”

A day after Shoaib revealed his marriage to Pakistani actor Sana Javed on Instagram, Imran issued a statement. The newlywed pair posted their wedding photos on Instagram, surprising fans and sparking speculation about Shoaib’s marital status with Sania.

Insiders disclosed that the 37-year-old tennis player officially divorced the cricketer after their separation in late 2022. Sources indicated that Sania became discontented with the former all-rounder’s interactions with other women, a concern she had been overlooking for a while. However, she decided to take action when her patience reached its limit.

Once hailed as a power couple, Shoaib and Sania consistently made headlines since 2022 amid reports of their separation. Rumors circulated about Shoaib’s divorce from Sana, with both parties maintaining silence, possibly due to undisclosed agreements. Up until now, neither of them publicly confirmed their relationship status amid ongoing speculation.

The couple, who wed in 2010 and welcomed their son, Izhan Mirza-Malik, in 2018, had been subject to scrutiny from fans who noticed a growing distance between them. Despite the persistent rumors, the cricketer repeatedly dismissed them and even shared messages for Sania on social media for four to five months.
