Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Nazario reveals his preference between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

The football icons, whose careers began nearly two decades ago, boast a massive fan base.

SportsKeeda reported that Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario, a two-time FIFA World Cup winner, has put an end to the long-standing Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi debate.

Fans frequently draw comparisons between the Portugal and Argentina football stars, both of whom began their careers nearly two decades ago. Additionally, they are recognized as two of the wealthiest sportsmen globally.

Ronaldo, who debuted in 2002, has clinched five Ballon d’Or awards, whereas Messi, who made his debut in 2004, boasts eight. Presently, Ronaldo captains Saudi club Al-Nassr, while Messi plays for David Beckham’s team, Inter Miami.

In an interview with Mail Sports, Nazario provided a definitive answer to the enduring debate that has captured the footballing world’s attention and the minds of fans worldwide.

During a rapid-fire segment, when asked to choose his favorite between Ronaldo and Messi, he opted for Messi.

This isn’t the first instance where the Brazilian footballer has expressed admiration for Messi. In a previous interview before last year’s Ballon D’or ceremony, he stated, “The Ballon d’Or should unquestionably be awarded to Lionel Messi.”

” Messi’s performance in the World Cup was exceptional. It reminded me of the campaigns of Pelé and Maradona.”

Additionally, he named Kylian Mbappe as the top striker globally and Paulo Maldini as the premier defender.

Moreover, he predicted Manchester City to emerge victorious in the Premier League.

Ronaldo Nazario’s declaration in favor of Lionel Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo in the perpetual debate between the two footballing titans reverberated across the global football community. As a former football icon himself, Ronaldo Nazario’s opinion carries significant weight among fans and pundits alike.

His choice of Messi over Ronaldo sparked discussions and analyses among fans, pundits, and sports commentators, with many dissecting the reasoning behind his preference. Nazario’s acknowledgment of Messi’s prowess and impact on the pitch, particularly citing his performance in the World Cup and likening it to the legendary campaigns of Pelé and Maradona, further solidified Messi’s status as one of the greatest footballers of all time.

Furthermore, Nazario’s endorsement of Kylian Mbappe as the premier striker and Paulo Maldini as the top defender added depth to his insights into the current football landscape. His predictions for Manchester City’s success in the Premier League added another layer of intrigue, prompting discussions about the potential outcome of the league season.

Overall, Ronaldo Nazario’s comments not only provided clarity on his personal preferences but also stimulated conversations about the enduring legacies of Messi and Ronaldo, the future stars of the game like Mbappe, and the dynamics of top-tier football competitions such as the Premier League.
