Rizwan claims he was the instigator behind Shadab Khan and Shaheen Afridi’s decision to tie the knot.
On Sunday, Pakistan’s prominent wicketkeeper-batsman, Mohammad Rizwan, shared a significant update regarding the marriage of former captain, Babar Azam. Babar, known for his cricketing prowess, consistently attracts attention, with speculation swirling around his marital intentions.
Previously, rumors circulated about Babar’s impending marriage, which ultimately proved to be false.
In an exclusive interview with Geo News, Rizwan, a close friend of Babar, revealed, “I encouraged Shadab Khan and Shaheen Afridi to consider marriage, and Babar Azam will also tie the knot soon.”
Currently leading Multan Sultans in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9, Rizwan disclosed that he initiated discussions about marriage with Shadab and Shaheen.
“Marriage is a sacred bond ordained by Allah, and the relationship between husband and wife holds great significance,” he emphasized.
Detailing his close relationship with Babar, Rizwan shared, “Babar and I share a strong bond. We often engage in deep conversations late into the night, seeking each other’s counsel on various life matters.”
Speaking about the PSL, Rizwan highlighted Multan’s emerging role in nurturing cricket talent, particularly fast bowlers. “While Karachi, Lahore, and Sialkot have traditionally been known for producing cricket stars, Multan has now joined the ranks. Players like Ehsanullah, Asif Ali, and Mohammad Ali have emerged from Multan Sultans,” he noted.
Rizwan also stressed the importance of education alongside cricket, citing examples like Shan Masood and Mohammad Hafeez. “Although my educational background is limited, I managed to secure admission to Islamia College. However, my cricket commitments hindered further studies. Education should be prioritized alongside sports, as seen in the examples of Misbah-ul-Haq, Mohammad Hafeez, and Shan Masood. Pakistan’s educational system should offer sports scholarships,” he concluded.
